Registration deadline is March 10th, 2023.

*By registering this activity, I hereby release and hold harmless Trailhead Fellowship, LeaderSource, its members, guests, employees, or an agent, and Camp LoneStar from any and all liability and/or transportation to/from, damages sustained by me or members of my family related to our voluntary participation in Father/Son Campout.

Overview

My name is Ed Wu and I’m a Chinese dad living in Austin, Texas.

11 years ago, I took my son Joshua, when he was only five years old, to Camp Peniel, where Hill Country Bible Church hosted its Father/Son campout. That has changed our lives. Since then, I have taken him to the same place every year, except for the brief interruption during the COVID.

It has become an annual ritual for my son and me. As he grows up, we have had our fair share of struggle in our relationship, but I believe this experience and so many memories of us doing things together, such as archery, shooting, playing balls or singing campfire songs with hundreds of dads and sons…has been firmly imprinted in our hearts. As a father, I often feel that I have failed many times to raise my son to be who God wants him to be, but this is one thing I feel I did it right.

Pastor Mark Batterson said, “Don’t accumulate possessions; accumulate experiences.” As a dad, you have accumulated a lot of stuff, now it is your time to accumulate experiences for you and your son. We are very excited to announce that Trailhead Fellowship will host our first ever Father/Son Campout for Chinese families.

This weekend will be filled with fun activities for dads and sons, as well as gospel centric worship, teaching and sharing. Our heart is for every dad to have long-lasting memories with their son(s) and together, we will pursue Jesus Christ as our savior!

Trailhead Fellowship is a new ministry for Chinese men. We hope you will bring your son and enjoy a special weekend of building memories and healthy relationships — body, mind, and soul.
